             abstract = "171e multiparame ter characteristics of the SIR-O/X-SAR experiment 
                         (L, C and X bands, HEI, HV and VV polarizations for E and C bands, 
                         VV for X band, angZes of incidence from 15 0-550 ) would provide 
                         an unique and excellent opportunity to improve hydrologic and 
                         agricultural studies in the microwave domain. Being so, two main 
                         objectives are established in this proposal: a) To develop an 
                         algorithm to monitor the hydrological cycle over agricultural 
                         areas, based on data derived fwm SAR imagery and meteoro logical 
                         data at a floodplain area; h) To verify the possibility to 
                         discriminate among cultures at the date of the experiment and 
                         describe and analyse the attenuation properties of the cultures as 
                         related to the following radar parameters: frequency, polarizaton 
                         and angle of incidence. RESUMO: As caracter{\'{\i}}sticas 
                         multiparam{\'e}tricas dos radares de ex peri{\^e}ncia 
                         SIR-CIX-SAR (bandas L, C e X, polariza{\c{c}}{\~a}es HH, HV e 
                         Vi' para bandas L e C, VV para banda X, angulas de incid{\^e}ncia 
                         entre 150 e 55°), caracterizam uma excelente oportunidade no 
                         desenvolvimento de aplica {\c{c}}aes em Hidrologia e em 
                         Agricultura no dom{\'{\i}}nio de Microondas. EM vis ta desta 
                         perspectiva, estabeleceram-se dois grandes objetivos para es ta 
                         proposta: a) desenvolvimento de um algoritmo para monitorar o ci 
                         cio hidra l{\'o}gico em {\'a}reas agr{\'{\i}}colas, com base 
                         em dados extra{\'{\i}}dos cr{\'e} imagens SAR e dados 
                         meteorol{\'o}gicos, e b) verificar a possibilidade de discriminar 
                         entre culturas presentes por ocasi{\^a}a do experimento: des 
                         crever e analisar as propriedades de atenua{\c{c}}{\~a}o das 
                         culturas relaciona - das aos seguintes parametros dos radares: 
                         frequ{\^e}ncia, polariza{\c{c}}{\~a}o e - angulo de 
                         incid{\^e}ncia.",
